The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Launches "Women of Vision" Leadership Series in Partnership with First & Main
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. — The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the launch of Women of Vision, a new leadership and networking series created to inspire, connect, and empower women across Montgomery County and the New River Valley. The series is presented in partnership with First & Main, whose investment in leadership development and community engagement has helped bring this new initiative to life. Women of Vision was developed in response to overwhelming interest following the Chamber's Women's Leadership Conference. While the conference has become one of the Chamber's most successful events, attendees consistently expressed a desire for opportunities to continue building relationships, sharing experiences, and developing professionally throughout the year.
"After every Women's Leadership Conference, we heard the same message from participants: 'Can we do more of this throughout the year?'" said Marissa Smith, Vice President of Membership Engagement for the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. "Women of Vision is our answer. This series creates a space where women can continue learning from one another, growing as leaders, and building meaningful connections that strengthen both their careers and our community." Designed for women at every stage of their professional journey, Women of Vision welcomes business owners, executives, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, emerging professionals, and community advocates. Each session will feature practical leadership insights, meaningful networking opportunities, and conversations that encourage collaboration and mentorship.
The program reflects the Chamber's mission by creating opportunities to build relationships, encouraging community engagement, and supporting personal and professional success. "As a Chamber, connecting people is at the heart of everything we do," Smith added. "We envision women from every industry and every career stage coming together to exchange ideas, support one another, and create relationships that extend well beyond each event. We hope every participant leaves with a new connection, a fresh perspective, and an idea they can immediately put into practice."
The Chamber also recognizes the important role of its Presenting Sponsor, First & Main, in establishing Women of Vision as a signature leadership initiative for the region. "We are incredibly grateful to First & Main for believing in this vision," said Smith. "Their partnership demonstrates a genuine commitment to investing in women, leadership, and the future of our business community. Together, we are creating a program that we believe will become a lasting resource for women throughout the New River Valley."
The inaugural Women of Vision program is strongly supported by Aivey Street, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for First & Main Shopping Center and JET Express Carwash. An entrepreneur, business development consultant, and community advocate, Street shared her leadership journey while encouraging attendees to embrace entrepreneurship, mentorship, and community involvement. In addition to featured speakers, Women of Vision incorporates interactive networking experiences designed to foster authentic conversations and meaningful relationships among participants. The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce invites women throughout the New River Valley to join future Women of Vision events and become part of a growing network dedicated to leadership, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
