The ''WOW'' Factor: Where Customer Service Starts
Customer service is vital to the success of any business. To help promote positive customer service, the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) has developed a free workshop that will be presented at the New River Community College NRV Mall site in Christiansburg in June. The program is being presented again after being well received in January with over 100 participants at NRCC in Dublin. The two-hour training workshop, ?The WOW Factor: Where Service Excellence Starts,? will be held at the mall site on Friday, June 5, beginning at 1 p.m. Bobbie Walker, director of education and workforce readiness with the VTC, will present the workshop. She works directly with Virginia destinations and attractions, presenting customer service training programs for front-line staff and management. Walker?s presentation will identify why customer service is beneficial. She will also discuss positive behaviors that enhance customer service skills and the importance of treating co-workers as internal customers. The program will help give front-line employees the confidence and support needed to shine as hosts and to lead by example. The workshop is free and open to the public. Registration can be completed online by visiting www.nr.edu and clicking on ?Customer Service Workshop? under Dates of Interest.
