Junior Achievement Southwest Virginia Business Hall of Fame
Created by Junior Achievement in 1990, the Southwest Virginia Business Hall of Fame is an annual gathering of the area’s top executives who convene to honor great achievements in Virginia business. The event celebrates the accomplishments of individuals who have had a lasting impact on the free enterprise system and improved our way of life here in Southwest Virginia. The business attire gala will feature a reception and sit-down dinner at Hotel Roanoke and attracts over 400 individuals from the business community.
The laureates are nominated and selected by a committee of their peers. Once the laureates receive notification and accept the honor, Junior Achievement staffers collect in pictures, clippings and conversation, the life story of each laureate. Then a vignette is prepared and narrated for presentation at the dinner.
Frequently, companies will purchase tables for their employees and choose to sponsor some JA students so they can witness and be a part of the well-deserved recognition one receives for hard work and accomplishment.
