Helping Each Other Through Hard Times - A Workshop for Caregivers
This workshop will share useful information from elders, about elders about how to cope with all kinds of disasters and loss including recent tragedies in our community. The video “Voices of Wisdom” will be shown with a discussion afterward. Participants will be able to: identify good coping skills for dealing with extreme situations, understand phases and factors involved in coping with disaster and loss, understand how to help others who depend on them through difficult times, identify what local resources are available for them and those they care for, and describe normal coping and when someone needs help for more severe responses. Pre-registration required by calling the Christiansburg Senior Center at 382-2349 or email anglittle@naxs.net. Please provide your name, address and telephone number. Registration deadline is Friday, February 15th. This workshop is free and open to the public. Light refreshments provided.
