Buy Local or Bye, Local! Buy Local means we will support local businesses in our community, and we have an abundance of local businesses, many more than some of our neighboring communities. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to support our community through their footprints; make an impression in our community. Our Executive Director committed to spending 80% of her disposable income locally. Some of her favorite local shops are Sugar Magnolia, Vintage Cellar, KDR, Original Frameworks, to name a few. If you see her shopping, say hi. She is wearing a Hokie Mask.
Remember that for us, buying locally means you could shop chain stores as well. Some research shows that .68 of a dollar spent in a local business remains in the community, and .48 of a dollar spent in a chain store stays in our community. We do not mean to sound greedy, but we want to keep as much money as possible - here in this community.
Shop ‘til you drop but wear a mask, distance yourself from other shoppers, and wash your hands. Check out other cool shops in our community.
