Blacksburg Ballet’s Annual Nutcracker Production Offers Free Field Trip Opportunities for Local Groups and a Holiday Memory for All Audiences Blacksburg, VA
The Blacksburg Ballet is pleased to announce a unique opportunity for local groups to attend their highly anticipated annual production of The Nutcracker with an educational field trip on Friday, December 13th, and full-length performances on Saturday,
December 14th. Thanks to the generosity of over 25 local sponsors, more than 2,000 local students and community members will be able to attend the special field trip performance for FREE, making the arts accessible to all.
The field trip performance on Friday, December 13th, is a special, shortened version of The Nutcracker, designed to fit within the school schedule. This performance is ideal for groups of all ages, from schoolchildren to youth groups and community organizations.
The 10:00 am show is SOLD OUT, and there is limited seating available at 12:30 pm (one-hour run-time).

Community Engagement Through Dance
The Blacksburg Ballet is proud to showcase a mix of experienced and inexperienced dancers from across the community in this year’s production. The Nutcracker features local talent,
providing an opportunity for young dancers to share the stage with seasoned professionals, fostering mentorship and celebrating the growth of the arts in the New River Valley.
“We are thrilled to offer this free field trip experience to so many local students and families, and it’s all possible because of our incredible sponsors,” said Paige Guynn, Artistic Director of the
Blacksburg Ballet. “The Nutcracker is a magical experience, and we are so proud to bring this production to life with dancers from our very own community. It’s a chance for the next
generation to experience the beauty of live theater while being inspired by the hard work and dedication of both new and experienced performers.”

Full-Length Performances
For those who wish to experience the full production, the Blacksburg Ballet’s full-length performance of The Nutcracker will take place on Saturday, December 14th at 1:00 p.m. and
6:00 p.m. at the Moss Arts Center. This spectacular performance will feature the complete story, breathtaking choreography, beautiful costumes, and Tchaikovsky’s iconic score.
