Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program (MCEAP) Food Drive

Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program (MCEAP) Food Drive

Your Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to sponsor a food drive to support the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program Children’s Summer Food program. MCEAP serves the immediate, emergency, and temporary needs of low-income, unemployed, elderly or handicapped individuals and families in our community, and each year they support families who need assistance feeding their children during the summer by providing each child with 3-meals per day, 7-days per week, plus snacks.

Last year MCEAP successfully fed over 80 children through the summer. Our goal is collect enough food to feed as many, if not more children this year! I know through the support of our membership, we can far exceed their goal of 1000 food items collected. Once we reach our goal, not only will we be rewarded by knowing the children in our community will not be hungry this summer, we will also have the pleasure of witnessing Mayor Michael Barber kiss a live goat.

We’re asking our members to help with our efforts by placing a donation box in your business and promoting the drive with your team(s) and/or customers. Attached is a flyer you may attach to the box to spread the word. There will be a drive-thru drop off at MCEAP on Wednesday, June 28, 11am-2pm. If you aren’t able to deliver collected donations during the drive-thru drop off, you may drop them off at MCEAP at a time more convenient for you and when they are open to collect donations.

Thank you for all you do to support our community, and a special thanks to our members who have helped bring this event to life, including Aloha Eddie, Ignite Leadership Consulting Group, and Blouse House Creations
