On Thursday, February 1 starting at 5pm, Ferguson Blacksburg Showroom will host a free evening that includes seven local restaurants competing with their best soups. Taste and vote for your favorite! Plus, celebrity judges will be voting on their winner. There will also be appetizers, a 50/50 raffle, silent auction and more. This is a fun evening so bring along friends! The Women’s Resource Center provides vital support in our community. Domestic abuse and sexual violence is not limited to any class or race. It affects us all and we can all lend a hand to help. With events like this, the Center can offer much-needed assistance for women, men, and children at risk. Last year, they served 3,796 local people and provided education/awareness talks to an additional 23,532. WRC’s emphasis on prevention and education is making a tremendous difference in our community!! Donations of pillows, blankets, and canned or dry goods for the Shelter will be gladly accepted along with financial donations. For more information, please visit goo.gl/XfhGZs, find our facebook event under “Souper Bowl Throwdown” or reach out to me via email. This is a FREE and open to the public event so please invite others!
