AUTHOR JOE TENNIS TO SPEAK AT THE MEADOWBROOK PUBLIC LIBRARY, SHAWSVILLE Joe Tennis, author of Beach to Bluegrass: Places to Brake on Virginia?s Longest Road, will speak at the Meadowbrook Public Library on April 10 at 7:00 p.m. Beach to Bluegrass tells the story of U.S. Route 58 as it travels 500 miles across Virginia. This guide offers stops at haunted hotels, covered bridges, lighthouses, waterfalls, mile-high mountains, Civil War sites, and seven state parks. Joe Tennis is an award-winning features writer, photographer, and columnist for the Bristol Herald Courier as well as a frequent contributor to Appalachian Voice, Blue Ridge Country magazine, and Marquee magazine. He lives in Abingdon, Virginia. There will be a question and answer period and books will be available for purchase and autographing at the end of the program.
