DESCRIPTION:Composer/performer and media artist Pamela Z makes solo works combining a wide range of vocal techniques with electronic processing\, samples\, gesture activated MIDI controllers\, and video. She has toured extensively across the U.S.\, Europe\, and Japan\; created installations\; and has composed scores for dance\, film\, and new music chamber ensembles. Her numerous awards include a Guggenheim Fellowship\, the Creative Capital Fund\, the CalArts Alpert Award\, the ASCAP Award\, and the NEA/JUSFC Fellowship. This performance culminates a week-long residency with the School of Performing Arts\, and includes a new work designed specifically for the Cube's unique environment in collaboration with Eric Lyon\, associate professor of music technology and composition.\n\n\n\nPresented in partnership with the School of Performing Arts
