DESCRIPTION:-\n\nJoin us for an Entrepreneur Program:\n\nWhen: Thursday\, December 17\, 2015\n\nWhere: The Lyric Theatre\, 135 College Ave Blacksburg\n\nTime: 3:00 - 5:00 pm\n\nAdmission: No cost\n\n \n\nPurpose: To educate and inform the existing business community and government leaders on what is necessary from the community to attract\, cultivate and\, importantly\, retain new businesses and start ups in our community. We have VT and the many fine educators\, groups and programs within the academic arena to build the startup knowledge and culture from ground zero\, teaching the indivduals what they need to know and how best to launch into their businesses. \n\n \n\nTopics include:\n\n- What is necessary from the governments and from the business community\, to retain and grow those businesses that want to stay in Montgomery County. \n\n- Funding\, and how capital and investment opportunities often draw new businesses away from here\, to places like DC\, Boston\, TX and CA\, and what we need to do to compete.\n\n- Addressing the social and personal culture for the young professionals - what communities need in place for the 20 and 30 something crowd to keep them engaged in the community and to cause them to lay roots. \n\n- How local governments need to be thinking about in terms of attracting and incentivizing not just local startups but startups from outside our community to come here and establish footholds.\n\n \n\nCall 540.382.3020 or email DLyons@montgomerycc.org to make your reservation.\n\n-
