DESCRIPTION:Join us in downtown Blacksburg for an Art Walk- enjoy meeting the artists in participating galleries.\n\n\n\nThe Artful Gallery\n\nOur Abstracts Exhibit features the work of local artists Marie Collier\, Marianne Jackson\, Nicholas Milinazzo\, Rita Montrosse\, John Wiercioch\, and Tom Wilkinson. Exhibit on display until December 18. Friday October 2- Enjoy light refreshments throughout the evening.\n\n\n\nCommunity Arts Information Office\n\nFeaturing the work of Blacksburg Regional Arts Association member Betty Moore\n\n\n\nMish Mish\n\n"Virginia in the Raw"\, oil paintings my Michael Rhoades. There will be a meet the artist reception with refreshments from 5-7 pm.\n\n\n\nMatrix Gallery\n\nMatrix Gallery is happy to be featuring both Original Watercolors\, and prints of our featured Artist Katy Shepard.\n\nWe will have a Meet the Artist Reception from 5-7pm\n\n\n\nP. Buckley Moss Gallery\n\nFeaturing the work of P. Buckley Moss. Any visitors to the gallery can take Part in a drawing for a black and white print by P Buckley Moss.\n\n\n\nNest Realty\n\nFeaturing the work of Joe Kelley. Light refreshments\, 5-7pm\n\n\n\nBlacksburg Museum & Cultural Foundation-Alexander Black House\n\nDiane Relf- Architectural Artifacts to Art: this old house's rust repurposed\n\nOld buildings\, whether being restored\, repurposed\, or removed\, supply a wealth of metal material\, which is the basis of my art. This show features ceiling tiles\, cornice\, roofing tin and roofing tiles\, old store metal siding\, signs and other salvage from the community of Shawsville\, Virginia and the surrounding area. Some pieces are encouraged to continue to rust and then used for mono-printing on various fabrics which are used in creating wall hangings. Other pieces provide the structure for art works combined with photographs or alcohol ink paintings.\n\nOpening reception with light refreshments from 5-7pm and visitors can "meet the artist".\n\n\n\nBlacksburg Library\n\nMeet the Artist: Ashley Marlowe\, Presentation & Graphic Design Demonstration\n\nIllustrations from Kaya and the Shadow Spirits\, an original story written and illustrated by Ashley\, will be on exhibit at the Blacksburg Library throughout October.\n\nAshley Marlowe\, an award-winning graphic designer and illustrator\, has won several nationally and locally recognized design awards\, including a national level American Advertising Foundation ADDY award for her illustration work. Common influences in Marlowe's work include books\, imagination\, and fantasy or science fiction\, as well as a recurring astronomical theme. Marlowe is currently living and working in Roanoke\, usually with a cup of tea in one hand and her wacom stylus in the other.\n\nAutographed copies of Kaya and the Shadow Spirits will be available for purchase.\n\nThe Blacksburg Library will be open extended hours on Friday\, October 2\, 2015 to participate in the Blacksburg Art Walk.\n\n\n\nMoss Arts Center\n\nMeet the Artist: Gerry Bannan\n\n6:30 PM\, Miles C. The exhibition will last until the end of November.\n\nAn opening reception for the artist will be held on Friday\, October 2nd from 5 - 7pm. Please come and meet Emily and enjoy her beautiful romantic paintings.\n\n\n\nWarm Hearth Village\n\nOctober artist of the month for Warm Hearth Village is Vicki Mullins. We will be having an open house and meet and greet reception with her from 4:00 to 5:00 in the Village Center fitness hallway on Friday October 2nd.
